Katie Philo

HI, I’m Katie

I’m currently the Head of Social at GQ. I previously lead social for Pitchfork and BritBox in New York. Prior to this, I worked in a variety of digital and social roles at the BBC in London, including BBC One, Strictly Come Dancing, BBC Podcasts and Radio 2. Originally from Hampshire in England, I moved to New York in 2018 and currently reside in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Don’t worry, I still drink at least four cups of Yorkshire Tea daily.

They Must Be Mad is hosted by me, Katie Philo, and my good friend Elissa Lynch. Each episode, we're mad enough to reveal our weekly internet search history to learn a little bit more about the world and... each other. From there, we pick one of our favourite searches and dive down the rabbit hole to become internet experts on a certain subject. Listen on Spotify.

Things I love

Live music. And then reminiscing about bygone gigs, including boygenius at Brooklyn Steel, Bon Iver at Glastonbury 2009 (and every Bon Iver concert since) and Sigur Rós at Benicassim 2008… to name a just a few. I also have a penchant for sad music and British Indie circa 2006-2007.
